1/4 mile times

Post by minis84 »

Hi everyone!

Its the British Mini Showdown on the 16/17th of July this year, and I don't think my 1293 Clubman is going to be ready for it, or if it is, the engine won't be run in!

So I'm thinking of running the GT down the strip a couple of times! I just wondered if anyone else had run their GT down the quarter mile, and what sort of times they got?? Must admit, my car feels very quick, much faster than the Clubby when it had its cammed-up 1275 in (which ran an 18.01s down the strip).

Any ballpark figures for quarter miles?

Cheers!!

Tom

i almost won my m8 who was in a new shape bettle 2000cc 8valver

also came fairly closer to another m8 in a Mini Cooper (new mini) 1600cc 16valver 8)

hmmm, excellent.

my mate has a 1293cc Mini Cooper Sport (2000 W), with approx 90bhp at the fly. It runs about 17.5 second quarters, so I might be able to get close, or maybe just beat him in a GT! I'll run it with minimal fuel in the tank, and EVERYTHING removable taken out of it, may even take the passenger seat out :D
