Removing the rear-view mirror

my rear view mirror plastic is broken and it makes noise.
How can I detach it from the windshield and install a new one?

i think the whole unit is stuck on using glue but dnt hold me to tht ask about!

Before you pull and crack your windscreen, try twisting the mirror off the base. Turn it counter clockwise for about 45 degrees, it should come off without effort - Do Not Pull.

If you're unsure, ask your local Carglass or dealership.

"of the base" as near the window or near the mirror?
