question to ppl with 17's

I am lookin to get 17's on my mk4 and would like to know the followin questions:

How much work needs to be done on the arches?

Would it be possible for me to do the work myself? (baring in mind i dont know an awful lot about cars)

What would be the cost in a garage to get it done if unable to do myself if anyone who has 17s has done it this way?

yes mate i got 205/40/17's on my car, lowered 40mm and what i at to do is take the plastic crap away from inside the arches, piece of p***, u should nt have any problem doin it yourself, don t listen to most people on here when they say stay away from 17's! they re the BEST

i have 17s on my mk5 and its all good, the only rubbing occurs on the body kit if i go to fast over large bumps

im goin 19s v soon tho which will be the Don
