Laser tracking Price.

Post by Reeyad »

Just went to get my tire changed, decided to get the tracking done.

kwik-fit stated it would be 49.99 for the Polo Mk5 hmmmmm I knw its laser tracking, but is that a resonable price.......

When I had me Polo Mk4 that was only 20quid plus that car was lowered.....

What do you guys/gals think and how much do you lot pay for laser tracking.....

it shud not be any different from the mk4 to do the tracking...

nothin is adjustable at the back, th all they need to do is check for a thrust line (basicaly to make sure the back wheels face the same way lol)

usually id say they only need to charge 1 hrs labour but if they need to set camber or anything then thats a pain in the arse but it shudnt be as much as £50!

£35 - £40 sounds better!

Most modern tracking systems are laser based. I think it was about £30 at the most when I had my Mk2 done at Bush Tyres in Skegness.

EDIT: Forgot to add, don't go to Kwik Fit, overpriced set of utter muppets.

Had my tracking checked and adjusted as needed about three weeks ago at Hi-Q for only £30, thought that was pretty reasonable myself! I did ask at the VW dealership out of curiosity and she told me it would be £125   but that it would be a complete check of the suspension components, alignment, camber, tracking and balancing! Never do things by halves do they

Wise words. Used A kwik Fit Chimp to fit a stainless back box. Only took 20 mintes to totally bodge it :!:

And on the subject, most Hi-Q branches will do you a free check.

So you do what my brother does, drive it home and tweak it, go in the next day for another free check.

before wrapping my beloved gti around a tree had vw do an `optiline'. cost £250 they check everything - did also require new tyres on the front, to be full of petrol, and screen wash to be full up. they then put 90kgs of weight in to the car and line everything up. they had the car for nearly 4 hours. it sorted out the tyres wear problem i was having. plus the local council picked up the bill as the problem was caused by a large pot hole.
