*get mums old (or new ) hair-dryer
*heat up the badge area (particularly around the rubber seal.
*get some fishing line or anything similiar thats strong, and gently saw away at the old tacky glue holding the badge on
*job done!
If it's the VW Double sided tape, that stuff is STRONG, I stuck the GTi lettering on my engine cover then wanted to move it a bit, it isn't going anywhere
You tried T-CUT? the chrome plating is only a few microns thick. Get some T-CUT and rub quite hard, you will find the plastic is black underneath. If not, you can always remove it as specified, but this way might work for you.

Good idea............ save some cash
But wont work for the front its actual a metal cover on top of the vw sign, was quite surprised, when I spotted that...
