it depends whether you want it to be noisey or not?? i had a custom exhaust made for my gti but only kept it for a week because i just found it way to noisey! so my only option was to buy a cat back system for the gti from vw, this set me bk just over 300 quid, but its worth every penny, because i wanted a hiddend exit, and they are apparently 3 layer galvenised stainless steel, and they will out last any other manufactures exhaust 3 times over!

well this is what i was told by my local vw specialist (who didnt sell me the exhaust!)lol

its just a question of whether you want it to be noisey or not? also when going bk to standard i have noticed no change in performance, infact it seems quicker cuz it makes less noise!lol

custom doesn't always mean noisey, I wanted something with a little bit of a rasp to it but not so noisey it gives me a headache on the motorway.

I was advised to keep the two silencers and have a fairly small tail pipe. possibly even keep it 'hidden' like standard. I was quoted about £250 for a stainless cat-back.

But then I bought the BMC instead :D
