some gti inf please.
what the horse power on a gti? Im thinking of going from my 1.4 se to a gti when I come back my hols, are they quite hard to get hold of and much would I expect to pay for one?
Hi there,
I think the BHP is around 128bhp!?
I bought a 2001 Y plate last february with 34500 miles in absolute mint condition for £6000.
However it did take me a while to find one cause the stories were true that once you buy one you tend to hang on to it because they are so much fun!
Hope this helps

just bought a 2001 Y plate 5dr Gti. 54K on the clock for £6k but it has got the 'hens teeth' full leather/heated seats.
and was a main dealer, so comes with 12mths warranty etc etc.
the good ones go very quickly, and you'll have to be prepared to travel for one... by the time I get mine home next week it'll have been 600 miles!

Checked it out and they droped it to london for me £6500, I purchase 2 months ago now.
Had a couple of minor props with HT leads, but that was changed under warrentee.
I recently took me old mk4 for a spin, sold to a mates younger bro, u realise how comfortable and smooth the mk5 is............

haha
As everyone has said once youve had one, you wont wanna sell it !!!!
EVER !
Ive creamed too many 'faster' motors away from the lights to wanna sell mine just yet
AND not many people have a Polo GTI, you get real KUDOS points if you own one, your being original !!. . . . . anyone can go and buy a 'gay' saaxo *throws up*
Actually seeing as im here and waffling. . . Any other GTI owners get a lot of attention from Mums in their car? The amount of times ive had mums with little kids in their car roll down their window and tell me its a lush car and they wish they owned one !
Weird really, i think they must see it as a good car to bling around town during the day and also have the presence to look good of a night when they go out and about.

Or in the day with the xenons on.. or is that just meModifiedMadness wrote:Took me 4 months to find my oneBought from a main dealer for £7000 (well £6400 and my old 106) 2001-X Plate, about 48000/49000 on the clock, it's not got about 51000.
I love it, sounds nice, drives nice and looks even better, especially at night with the Xenons on.
When I first saw the car, it was driven up from Bridgnorth to Shrewsbury and the guy came onto the forecourt with the lights on, I think thats about the time that I was sold
Haven't looked back since!
