Major sub problem.

Post by Mk3 Chris »

My sub yesterday stopped working for no reason at all.

I've checked all connections everything seems ok but nothing is going to the sub at all... if I take the connections out the sub and put them to another speaker it works ok, so a signal is being sent.

Any ideas?

sounds like you killed your sub.

if other speakers work on the amp, thenit aint the amp...

did the sub 'pop' or start smoking at any time??

Took it back to the shop, they checked everything and don't have a clue... they went fukkit... pick another. So i have 2 600w subs now :)

So I recommend A1 when buying sound systems!

One thing... I have on the amp RCH+ RCH- LCH + and LCH - and will be using it for 2 subs only, what should I do to for bass, I know before I didnt wire one sub per channel, it was wired in a funny way like LSUB+ to LCH+ and LSUB- to RCH- or am I in another world?

How should this be wired to get most bass from the amp, my tweets are coming from the head unit.

Most amps are normal label 'sub-out' and will have some form of Bass Boost. if your amp doesnt have this then it isnt really designed to run amps (more a component amp). Your only option is to wire the right sub to the right channel and the left sub to the left channel.
