good to here it mate! I drove my polo for the first time properly the other day as ive been working on it since i had it and have realised how awesome they really are!! cant wait till i get my tax too
nice to hear mate...i did exactly the same thing in october after having my car sit waiting for me for a year....the enjoyment still hasn't warn off yet ...
admitidly i'd love more power for hills etc but still fun. (i bet a newer car would have got boring after the 1st week)
just watch your distance from the car in front (scary brakes)and watch your speed in the rain going round corners.
but other than that enjoy yourself.
p.s make sure you get yourself to the south-east meet and viking run, be nice to have another mk2 hatch there
welcome to the driving world mate!!! u'll love it
my first car was a mk2 squareback!!
as adam said u shud definately bring it to the meets, the viking run for instance was in cliffsend, next to the viking ship!!! not far at all for u!!
Congrats on passing the test Welcome to a world of freedom, fun, and huuuuuge petrol bills
Glad you're enjoying driving the polo.. they really are fantastic little cars, and you'll really get a feel for what driving's all about with one rather than being wafted around in a padded envelope with no idea what's actually going on like you would with a newer car. Hope you're getting out there and driving it at every available oppurtunity
well done mate! congrats! i may have seen you today, i was driving a military jeep on newington road, if it was you, you went up the manston road towards the manston tesco's! was it you?
looking forward to getting my old mk2 back on the road! saw her for the first time today after about 3+ months!
i was suprisingly warm, which was weird. i was a little wet though! only quickly took it for a spin round! had just be doing some work on her, i only live just down the road! car looks amazingly clean mate!
Just Been getting my head around fine tuning the the car lately as i had a few carb probs, but everything is running OK, all that needs sorting now is the ignition timing, but i cant really do that till i find myself a timing light
Once that's all sorted it should be as mechanically perfect as a 22 year old car can be
Shame a few of my friends cant see the engineering quality in my car, they just call it an old banger

i normally play on that, before anyone sees my car i always play it up as a £50 piece of poo which will probably break down....then when they see it they're really impressed....if they're still not impressed then i just compare my last 2 MOT's to their last, that always shuts them up
