mpg

Post by logistix »

just wanted to post this message in the happiness of my new mileage record 8) :

Image

My previous record was just shy of 1000km and that was in September, when I usually get the highest mpgs. Other mpg related mods to account for since then include Green cotton filter, VAGCOM disabled EGR valve and Magnex high flow muffler. The run was 80% highway, at 90km with cruise control. The 205 45 16 sticky tires cause a big drop in mileage, but I think 1100km is satisfying enough :D
What figures are other TDiers getting? Maybe this could be a thread to post everyone's mpg results, if you'd like.

Cheers :D

Good mileage there!

Disappointingly (although I have only covered about 4,500 miles), I am only managing to average about 350 miles per tank. My last car (100bhp TDI) could break 500 miles per tank with ease.

Hopefully it will get better as I pile on more miles.

I usually only manage to get around 400 miles out of mine. I've done about 23000 in mine so its well run in.

Dont know how you managed to get 500mi in your SPORT Ally.
I think the most I've got is about 450mi to a tank, but that included about 200mi careful motorway driving as I was working so wasnt in any hurry to get there.

Usually average about 50mpg per tank Although it can vary from 49-55, depending on the time of year, and how much traffic there is on the motorway (more traffic = better mpg because they make me go slower  )

Mind you if did 90km/h (which i think :?: is about 55-60mph, ish) like you logistix all the way down the motorway, instead of my usual...errr....70 (Honest Guv  ) then my mpg per tank would probably make me cream my pants

Think we should all get photos of our average mpg over one tank. I assume all 9n's come with trip computers to do that?

I'm about the same as said before in my GT TDI. The best I have managed is 460 miles, that was on a week of pretty moderate speeds doing normal driving then a few runs of about 120 miles at a time. My best mpg for a journey is 57 mpg but that was really nursing it

OK finished my MPG test - done 380 miles to my full tank costing £33. Driving consisted off 200 miles motorway and the rest town and dual carriageway to and from work at 70mph

1100km with a tank ? that's sick ;p

I get between 600 and 700km with my drivestyle (1.9 TDI 100) with a full tank.

Oi you dont count! You've got a big fat tank in your Grandad Bora

I filled up this morning and got 430 miles out of my last tank. Worked out at 53.4mpg. Thats the first time I've got that in a while, shows what a difference the weather makes as its been a few degrees warmer this week 8)

My GT see's anything from 45mpg up to 55mpg on the average mpg trip with mostly motorway miles at between 70-90mph, this is with a chip too. I keep trying to convince myself to program the ECU back to stock just to check out the standard software against the chip for mpg's sake but just cant bring myself to do it ; )

I do hold the pressure valve open on the inside of the filler neck when I fill up just to get in that extra few quids worth of juice. The most I have managed to get in was about £42.
