Hi.
I have a Polo (6n2). The car seems to have a problem to start most of the times, not when ive just got into the car, but for example, i turn of the engine to go fill up the tank (petrol), and when i return, it has problems starting. Or another example, i stall the car while parking, and i again have problems turning the engine on again. It takes about 5mins to get the engine running again.
Has any come across this problem before?
Any advice, assist?
Thanks.

Hmmm. When the engine doesn't want to start, can you hear the starter motor actually trying, or does everything just go dead? I had a similar problem that was very intermittent, it sometimes didn't happen for weeks at a time. Turned out to be the ignition switch, only fix was to replace it with a new one.

Yeah i can hear the starter motor actually trying, but it just doesnt turn on. Sometimes the engine does turn on for like 5secs before the rev gauges go down and the engine turns off.Si_GTi wrote:Hmmm. Mine does exactly the same, really on and off but particularly when the engines been run for 5 mins or so. I thought it was that the petrol was evaporating...I would suggest that when it happens you pump the gas and it should fire up
Anyone have any ideas?

Pumping the gas does nothing for me, the engine doesnt respond to the gas most of the time. I press the gas as much as i can and the engine does not respond at all.r_penny23 wrote: Mine does exactly the same, really on and off but particularly when the engines been run for 5 mins or so.
