Throttle body, it's allliiiiive !!!!!!!

Post by The_phat_controlleruk »

Woohoo, after god knows how long now my ride is sorted. After countless times to Nationwide autocentre (crap), Volkswagen main dealer trying to rip me off £500.00 after ripping me for £80.00 already. The problem of my over revving has been sorted by this place (http://www.elitevw.com/index.htm), the place looks like a breakers gone wrong, half stripped dubs, campers etc. He took out his snapon tool thingy, plugged it into the car, cleared all the errors (some going back a couple of years) and hey presto SORTED!!!!!!, she is now revving properly. Why oh why could a volkswagen main dealer not spot this, all he charged me was £25, that to me was a bargain for half an hours work and a car that now run's nice and sweet. He said that the ECU had so many errors in it, it didn't know what it was doing. Not wanting to cause an argument here, but I mentioned that I had disconnevcted the battery for half an hour and it made no difference, he told me that disconnecting the battery is a myth. It only works when the factory immobiliser has gone belly up or something like that. Anyhoo, she's sorted now and the moral is, DON'T USE A MAINSTEALER.
