Babble mate, the 1.4 engine in the VW Polo MK4 is fuel injected. However its still hard to do anything worth while with it! Its 60bhp as standard, they normally push out a little more than that anyway, so and exhaust and a filter might see you scrape 70bhp. If i were you i would improve the handling and make it more fun to drive it that sense, as you'd really need to overhaul the engine at very high cost to get anymore from it.

I've had a Seat Ibiza GTi, it was my baby, save up and buy the one you want as soon as you can!

How about changing the camshaft (fast road) and getting the ECU re-mapped. That'll help.

Elephant should, I'd been driving a year when I bought mine and had 0 NCB (no accidents but was a named driver so didn't get any no-claims) but deep pockets

I'm sure that all mk4's are fuel injected.

Some single point (i.e. one injector after the airbox, before the inlet manifold splits), some multi-point (individual injectors on each branch of the inlet manifold).

Come to think of it, some Mk3's had EFI. GT's certainly did.

see now i be very confused on this subject. Because i was certain i had a carburetoor as the golfs of the era do. However now im driving my polo (feck yeh!!!!) it definaely feels like EFI, it revs like an EFI an you dont get that pressure in the pedal! Theres only one way to find out and thats to whip the air filter off the top and have a looksie. EFI's are all plasticy and carbs are all chunky metal things incase you didnt know. Ill look one day on a day off form college when i have nothing better to do then ruin my car
