BMC induction

hi guys just a quick one toying with the idea of getting one of thease induction kits, what they like? will you use more petrol with one o thease compaired with a standerd filter?

shouldn't make any difference to fuel consumption, shouldn't make any difference on anything really except the noise. and apparently their not road legal.

love mine though :D

well they come with a big warning saying not for highway use and on the website it used to say not for use on public roads. I'm not sure if this means it's not legal though..

Well my car passed an MOT with one on.

The main issue with them is with regards to the crankcase breather. Fitting it to the GTi for example makes the breather pipe vent directly into the atmosphere, hence the need for a filter on it,

How much are the crankcase filters then? im assuming they don't come with them!

They're not much at all.

Get them from most decent car accessory shops. Even Halfords.

Technically with induction kits you should get a slightly improved fuel consumption, as more air is getting into the fuel/air mix allowing it to burn more efficiently. The air has to be sufficiently cool though
