ok guys got a question for all you 1.4 16v drivers.
several infact.

what kind of price does the average 1.4 16v engine go for inc loom/gbox/clutch

what kind of power is attainable with n/a mods (quite extensive ones, big throttle bodies/carbs etc)

has anybody ever supercharged the valver engine? if so what kind of power.. any links to pics/info.

does anybody know the rough overall weight of the engine and how it compares to the weight of a mk3 GT engine?

please answer my questions if you can

I have been hunting the net for answers but so far havent turned anything up, please endow me with some wisdom.

u should try www.torquecars.co.uk and then go to bhp gain calculator just put in the car and the bhp its got, but theres nothing about superchargers

but their is a turbo

, the only thing about vw engines you cant get amazing power out of them unless u rebuild the whole engine and spend Â£Â£Â£Â£ on it, so your better off getting a bigger engine.

but no idea on price and weight, but price im going too say about Â£700 4 one with 60,000 miles ???

ah handy... not whole-y accurate i shouldnt imagine. but gives me some idea
saw a 16v engine on ebay for Â£3k :S only done 26k like but you could get it from VW at that price!
