Getting a blank key cut!

Post by mmh »

Hi,

I've decided to get my central locking remote controlled by installing a fairly cheap keyless entry kit from eBay.

I will take photos on how to install as I know there are a few of us who want to have their manual central locking upgraded to a remote system.

The kit comes with blank keys for the remote fobs, but I'm having a B***H of a time finding any place that will cut them for a reasonable price.

I have a laser cut HAA key with a transponder in it. The transponder I'll cut out and use in my new fobs (hopefully there will be enough space). So all I need is the blank metal key blade cut.

Anyone know how much this would cost? I tried these people http://www.metrolocks.co.uk They said £220 plus vat
Others have said £40-50 quid a key.

Let me know, Mo
(p.s. I'm in London/SE area)

There's a guy on eBay who does them for very cheap. He's done a couple of flip key blades for me and they didn't cost a lot at all.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Key-blade-for-Aud ... dZViewItem this is to a blade he's currently selling, contact him and see what he says!

All the best! :)
