Regarding 16" RXII's, yes they are really quite rare and the only way to find them is by constantly checking eBay as Ollie says. Also pay attention to various VW forums and club sites etc in case the crop up on there.
I got mine off eBay just before Christmas last year, which probably helped keep the price down as I paid £400 for them including delivery. But in addition they ideally need 195/40/16 tyres which due to them being a rare size can be quite costly.
I will shortly however have a set of 15" BBS RXII's (standard GTi wheels) for sale after I've finished refurbing the rims.

It's lowered 60mm on shocks and springs. The wheels are 16x6.5 and are on 195/40/16 Toyo tyres. There are also 15mm spacers on the front and 20mm on the back.taylor wrote:That looks awesome... What size wheels and tyres are they? how is much is it lowered?
I wish mine had that stance. So thats why all the questions!
I also need to mention that it does like to scrub sometimes.
Hope this helps.
I decided to drive over to Euro car parts in Catford this morning. There are few things letting down the overall look of my car, for example the indicatior housings and the cracked nearside mirror cap.

The old indicator, with some sort of green algae developing in the creases around the unit.
So I took it off.

And I put the new one on.

Looks nice enough. Although it isn't Hella, it still looks nicer than the old one.
On to the mirror cap.

Cracked and ready to fall off. It nearly flew off while on the M1, on the way from the GTI summer festival. All of the tabs were broken off. I don't think I did this, it must've been done by the previous owner.

The new one being test-fitted. Who thinks I should keep it in primer?
I need to pick up some paint, and spray it with my new gravity-feed spray gun at my Dad's shop.
What's next I hear you cry?

A set of Lupo steelies and hubcaps. Nice winter wheels, eh? Not as nice as the Audi 8-hole wheels I wanted, but I decided that paying £120 for adaptors, wasn't worth it. I'll probably be putting some winter tyres on them some time soon. They should be fitted around the end of October.

You have winter wheels because during winter, there's a lot more crap on the roads like road salt, grit, snow, etc. And I'll be doing quite a few miles this winter. RXII's are notorious for having laquer lift and corrosion on the rim during winter. Also, I want to hand-polish them, and sort out a bit of kerbing on a couple of the wheels. Anyway, I think the steelies would look quite good, also. They kinda fit in with the theme I'll be going with my car next year
The indicators are sealed. I tried digging the stuff out with a toothpick and some soapy water, but no luck. You could always stick them in the dishwasher and see whether it'll clear the green crap out.
Ok, another update.
The winter wheels are going to go on next week (after cleaning it, of course!). I'm thinking of leaving the hubcaps off, and spraying them satin black, and sticking some iron cross valve caps. Kind of a pseudo rat-look. I'm also thinking of whitewall tyres, a la "BizcuitBox's" 9N off CP, seen at E38. I'm not sure whether I could afford proper whitewall's, so I've been looking at white tyre pens, but I'm not sure that they'd last very long.
So, what do you guys think? Whitewalls or no whitewalls, that is the question.
Also, if you photoshop guru's want to have a go at 'chopping my car, it would be appreciated.

Scratch the thought on the whitewalls. I'll leave it to the older cars. I don't have the money for new tyres on these wheels at the moment, and I reckon a tyre pen would look gash on the tyres anyway. I'll probably spray them in satin black though just to clean them up a bit, having carried a lot of brake dust on them.
