Setting Gear Linkage (cable change)

Post by hi_tower »

Hi all. I'm about to change the gearbox on my 1998 diesel polo and was wondering if anyone has any idea how to set up the gear linkage when its all put back together? The haynes manual says not to go there.

I've just changed the box on my 1997 1.4 8 valve polo, and all I did was marked the position on the old box, them measured and put the linkage in the same position on the new box.
Only one is adjustable as the other is held in position with a split pin style clip.

Thanks. I'll give that a try. I didnt think I could do that if I wasnt refitting the old box. Cheers.
