Something wrong with the wipers

Hi all, got a bit of a prob with my 95 Polo.
my wipers dont seem to be working, they only work if i click them down a step, but dont turn off, it only turns off if i switch them all the way to the top. also if i try setting them to level 1 , 2 , or 3. they wont work. rear ones are fine, just the front are a bit messd. i was wondering, if its the motor. is it easy to put it in myself?

Sounds like its the switch, not the motors

Try changing the relay for a known good one from a friends car or get one from a breakers. Changed the wiper motor and the switch on a golf once only to find it was the relay which cost Â£1 from local breaker.

cheers mate, i badly needed the wipers today, raining hard down here in london
