Between a Mk1 and an H reg Mk3? (is an H reg a Mk 3?)

I'm interested in the brakes and suspension. What parts are interchangable and what aren't.

Disks, front shocks and springs

Also what would be the cause of excessive brake pedal travel apart from the obvious air in the system?

Cheers

Suspension is identical.

Fairly sure the whole braking system will be more substantial, and there will be a servo, which mk1's lack.

Magic thanks for that.
With regard to the brakes, would the disks be the same size?

Very slight difference in the thickmess...Mk1's are 239 x 8mm, whereas Mk3's are 239 x 10mm

Thanks for the replies guys. Mine is a square headlight job so deffo a Mk3
David, I guess it will be OK to fit the smaller thickness discs, I'm planning to fit the Mk1 refurbished calipers anyway, that's if the mounting is the same so fitting the Mk1 discs should not be a problem.
