Urgent: my G40 won't start

Post by Mk2Adam »

hi guys :)

i really could do with your help here guys

i've had my car a month now with abolutely no probs in the slightest, my car has the boost return modicfication so it was about 700 miles since the last time the charger was lubricated so i followed what i was told to do...

1.start the engine
2.remove the coverplate
3.spray the lube into the inlet hole for about 10 secs, stopping anytime the engine sounds like it's about to cut out.
4.put gasket sealer on the join where the plate goes and then replace this.
5.turn the engine off.

i did all this and then instantly took her for a drive, got about 2 miles away fine, pulled up to some traffic lights and it stalled, re-started and it died instantly, pumping the gas only saved it for a sec but it would still end up cutting out, i checked all the connections etc and i can't see anything obvious, i had to get the breakdown lorry to take me home in the end but i am currently G-less.

so i would REALLY apreciate it if anyone has any ideas at all???? :(

i'm EXTEMELY pleased to say that it had run out of fuel and my guage was showing wrong, was idling a bit funny when i first got it going again but after a bit the ECU had obviously adjusted itself to normal and it's fine

so thanks to anyone that helped me (not just mark, but on other forums too)
