Opening the petrol cap!!!!! (HELP)

Post by Petrol_Head »

Iv still got fuel in my car so I’m not too worried.

But once again im having problems with the friggin central locking pump. The first one failed because of water damage. And now this one looks to be similar however i have my suspicions because I brought it second hand!

Anyway... I’m now hoping that one of you GENIUSUS can tell me how to open the locked petrol cap with out the central locking system working????

I know its possible

Says it in the VW manual. There is a manual release cable to pull towards you on the inner side of the boot.

lol. yeah when I had my MK4, my c/l locking pump died, and petrol was running low too. So had no choice but to wedge a screwdriver in and prop it open.

Realised later that this cable exists
