Post by Rubber12 »

Thinkin of buyin this K/N induction kit, what difference would it actualy make from being the stock airfilter, would it be worth getting?

Itll sound a bit meatier but them things tend to do mroe damage then good. And id eprsonally say that K&N are the crapest amke to get because they deforem easy. My mechanic/boss was tellign me the other day how K&N's on the golfs were deforming ebcause the golfs sucked to hard and the K&N filter has a lesser surface area then the standard filter, thus it wass actually restricting flow. I think poloas might eb the same. I know my beasts sucks like a whore at the crack of a gas chamber door so i personally owuldnt gte one, maybe two. Thatd make up for the restrictive airflow for sure...

lemeph not suppose to tell them it was from a film, suppose to say u thought of it  make u sound clever then

as for the k&n, i got a k&n on my polo and it def makes a difference to the sound, as it was the first thing to go on my car as soon as i brought it, even befor any alloys or a cd player, it sounded and still does sound great, specially with the sports exhaust, but last mot it failed on emissions and he said its cause my filter was letting in to much air and it might of damaged the cat. he said if i got the original filter put it back on and then he'll redo it. i put the original one back on and it was fine and it didnt damage the cat....

but that was done at motest and i think them along with kwik fit are both rip ofs so im getting my cousing to do my mot this year as he has my car anyway. if my cousin does it atleast i know it will be someone who wont try to rip me of..... so i will find out if my car does keep failing the mot or if it is just them conning money out of me........

the story continues...........

Mmmm, not sure bout that. Mine's running a cold air induction with scorpion cat-back exhaust, sailed through the MOT, nothing came up on the emissions. I'd try somewhere else mate.
