Mk5 Alternator Warning Light, weirdness (Newbie)

All,

Good afternoon.

I posted in the mk4 section thinking I had a mk4, but after a few mins of investigation it turns out I have a mk5...I think :)

Anyway I am having a bit of weird issue, can you take a look at the link below and see what you think.

have you checked your connections to the alternator, for corrosion?
