New bumper

Post by Robbeh »

Hi Guys,

I had a bit of a prang yesterday and ripped a big hole out of my front bumper.

I spoke to the garage who quoted me £300ish to get a new one, spray it, then attach it. Does that sound a reasonable quote?

Is there a cheaper way of doing it? I can get a knackered out old polo from eBay for less than £300, can I just rip the bumper off that and fit it myself? It is it an easy thing to fit?

Any advice welcome!!

Cheers,
Rob

oh and something else if I'm able. What the hell are brushes?
Something to do with the braking system I think, but what do they do?

mate you could pick up a second hand one and fit it. wat colour is it. try gsf for a new one if you really want. there a piece of p#ss to fit. three bolts on the underneath of the bumper grill at the bottom. 2 each side where the sh#t shield attaches and it will slide straight on. i can take mine off in abiut 5 min tops.

£300 seems a little excessive :?

Cheers pete. I followed your advice - got a bumper for £30, went down to Halfords and spent £30 on spray paint.

One afternoon later, I've got myself a bumper that looks as good as new :-)
