rub strips what are they stuck on with

hi all new here and need your help, my MKV 1.0polo's rub strip is peeling away, its on the drivers side, i know that they are clipped in and stuck on but i dont know what they are stuck on with, is this a silly question e.g. stick it with superglue or is there some stuff i can buy that will not ruin the paintwork underneath? cheers guys

As far as i know there only clipped in

they are stuck on with a very very sticky foam adhesive - to reseal them, you need a tar remover cleaner, or isopropyl alcohol to clean the surface. Then use something like a double sided foam tape or very strong double sided tape available from screwfix/BandQ to stick it back on. Do not use superglue under any circumstances!!
