The rubber hose just to the left of the oil cap on my car isn't connected to anything at the end and i'm not so sure if should be.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Where did you find that picture? That'd be my old baby!

there is a breather pipe which drops down from the air filter housing to the crank case. incorporated in that peice is a T-peice which is connected to the rocker cover. Those two bits are moulded together so perhaps you need a new breather pipe?

I did a search for breather and that picture came up but didn't answer my question :)

So the hose from the cam cover is connected to the air filter?

indirectly yes. the pipe coming from the cam cover is attached to a pipe which goes between the crank case beather and the air filter housing! if you look under the air filter housing, or perhaps taking it off would be easier, you should see a pipe which is attached to the housing, follow this down and it should go into the crank case! that pipe your talking about is meant to be connected in! 8)
