RM alloys

Post by mattyy »

Guys,

A set of Rms, 16"x7.5, et18, 5x120.

I have RS001 atm, 15x7.5,15x8, et38, 4x100.
They stick out a bit, as you've seen in the members ride section, but its cool.

Whats the deal with these rms? will they fit with pcd adapters of 15mm? or 20mm? or is it a no go area and should i ask for the same but in 15"s, 4x100?

ET38 on 7.5 gives an ET of 33ish
ET38 on 8 gives an ET26

with ET18 and 20mm adapters, thats an ET-2

That is a massive difference init? Although i have been told it fitted on a mk2 golf with 20mm adapters.

you talking about the 16" RM's on edition 38? they are seriously lush!, they would fit with adapters...i'm holding out for a 4x100 set of 16" RS's but they are rare as fook

if you have a choice stick with the 15" RM's/RS in 4x100, they wont stick out as much & you can get alot more dish for the amount of width

16" rims that are 7.5 standard WITH adapters are going to cause alot of scrubbing especially on the front

Ye the ones on edition38 - they are the nuts!!

I've never seen a 16" RM in 4x100!!
my RS as it now, stick out about an inch or so, but its cool.
are they gonna scrub proper bad?

they were on a mk2 golf and nick the guy said it was sweet.

i was running RM's 7, & 7.5", was down around 100-120mm and got a bit of scrubbing, you'll be alright on the current RS's...but not these RM's, i dont think so anyway...

i thought about all this when i had my gti but you really are better off on 15's with a nice bit of dish

See, Maxz is running RMs on his Gti, and the stance is the same as my RS and it looks good.

Is ET18 really that bad with the 20mm adapters?

I personally wouldn't go there. I reckon you'll experience alot of problems with the et being so low, and them being 16s of course.

If you've got money like that to splash i'd go for 15" wide boys (or keep yours)., for you get a much nicer stance 8)

RM's

Post by mattyy »

and what condition are your RM's in?
You should see these on edition..they are the nuts!!

I can get custom made adapters 15mm....and then it might look like 8's all the way round the car... or is that being too optimistic??

RM's

Post by mattyy »

My RS001's need so much work - new dishes - if i go for stainless, im looking at £105 a dish - thats £400+ right there!

The deal I got here is:

My wheels in its condition with T1 tyres + 1 new dish i bought (one dish is curbed) + £475...

and in exchange I'll get:

*a set of 15x7 RA's polished with tyres
*a set of 16x7.5 polished RM's 5x120 (only 2 in the country)

I got to buy 15mm adapters mind you @ £200 :?
I just wanted a winter set and the lush RM's for shows.

Shall I stick with my RS's? :?:

I'd say stick with the RS's.

I've always like them alot more then the RM's.

Stupid question but why do people get wider wheels at the back, for stance? Do spacers actually improve the handling of the car?
