Front mats for GTi...

Post by Si_GTi »

Rang my mate who works in VW parts and enquired today about a pair of new front grey/red mats for my GTi after wearing a hole through the driver's side mat!

He's got a pair on order for me to arrive Tuesday but said that they are the last pair in the country 8)

Lucky, hey?

When I swap the old for new, I'll strip the old mats of their fixings (the grey ones that hold them to the floor fixing points) so if anyone is missing any of these little fixings I should have four to supply :)

Cheers

That is of course if they are the correct ones. Are they pop or swivel connectors?

The mats are in! 8)

For future reference, part number for the front mats is 6N2 061 225 E ECG and the description on the label is CARPET MATS BLK/RE. Although my contact in TPS said mine were the last set in hte country on his ETKA screen...

The mats come with the fixings but you need any more or you break your own fixings they come in two parts and so there are two part numbers: 3B0864523 (bottom part) and 3B0864521A (top part).

Finally there are the screw-in "anchors" for the floor, these are 3B0864812A.

Cheers!

No pictures of the anchors sorry.

The mats are about £26 for the front pair :)

Cheers

EDIT: New B, I have four anchors here that are surplus to my requirements if you want some sent to you!

My mats I got new last year - meant to be for a GTI but not all of the clips match. They are perfect size though

Mouse - i have that same problem, my passenger side ones don't match up?

Also does anyone else have any problems with the rear mats moving about all the time and getting trampled underfoot? Or is it just my inconsiderate passengers?

My mats all match up perfectly. I have a spare passenger side mat in good condition but with no fixings if anyone is in need of one! No holes, freshly cleaned and vacuumed

So you have to put the holes in yourself?

@Tim: My rear mats are all over the place after people have been in the back also, it's quite annoying, haha.

Is it in perfect condition Si? With the holes for the fixing matching up with the ones on the floor?

I'll take a photo Tim and PM you!

Alun, my new mats had the holes for the fixings already in them, and the fixings supplied too. They fitted perfectly to my existing anchors.

BUT the fact that the new mats came with anchors too suggests that these may be put in place manually on each car so some errors could have been made?

Tim... are you going to twist my arm and make me get to Inters now to make the trade? Ha ha!

Cool, cheers Si :)

I need new ones. My driver side mat is in a shocking state.
