How to take rear VW badge off?

Post by Chrisrbower »

Hi there, basically want to spray the badge black but wondered how you take it off. I could spray it with it on the car but it would mean masking everywhere etc.

If anyone knows, that would be great

Cheers

Dont spray it on while its on the car mate, you need to sand it down throught coarse to fine sand paper then spray primer then paint then lacquer if you want a decent result,

If you dont the paint will just flake off.

I think you you pop the badge out and there will be two rivets that need chipping off with a knife then u can spray the badge easily

i pulled mine off as mine was chipped, its just held on with sticky tape like the sidestrips are... easy to remove but leaves a residue, no rivets to smooth out, some white spirit should do the job :)

Keep meaning to remove my rear badge to paint it, so it matches the front, ha. I'll get around to it.
