Post by Sam3352 »

Looking at some Mk5 parts for my 6n,
Interior Seats, Steering Wheel, Foglamps (Hack/Mod/RetroFit lol)

Any thoughts on putting these in? Like Straight in? Small Mod? Big Mod?
and some processes maybe/

Need some quick replies please because i will have missed the offer by tomorrow evening, thanks :-D

Interior seats from a Mk5 should be a straight swap. As far as i'm aware it isn't possible to fit the steering wheel as the boss is different. You could probably get the foglights to work but you would have to modify your front grill to get them to fit, probably easier to just get the mk4 ones and matching grill

mk5 seats fit straight in, plus as darren has pointed out the steering wheel doesn't & fog lights are probably too much hassle.

What model interior is it? If off anything less than a 16V or a GTI its probably best to wait for something nicer, IMHO!!

Seats are a straight swap and although I don't know myself i've heard the steering doesn't fit.

For foglamps just use mk4 8v ones, they look better if you ask me. However, they are bloody hard to get a hold of lol.

I know you probably don't want to hear it, but! Why those seats? They don't look anything other than standard! If you're gonna have the hassle of changing them, then get something nice & comfy. Something like a mk3 golf gti recaro or a set of ibiza gti or better still cupra seats!

Don't rush these things, u'll only regret it later!

No point getting seat that don't have any appeal. If your going for something like that then stick in 6n 16v OR 6n2 GTi seats in which are more comfy.

It depends what look you're going for really. If you want interior to look a little bit more updated and very OEM then those seats are fine. but they don't offer anything more in terms of sport, attention or comfort.

I just wanted something a lil bit updated tbh,
Not really to keen on the red and blue standard pattern?
Matching Door cards as well he (or she) is selling for £15 on top of about £50 for the seats.

If they are a bit grey i was gonna give them a good clean and dye them as well, to make them that littel bit more 'up to date' as well.

As a 17 year old starting out driving and doing A levels i dont really have the funds for a really nice pair of seats tbh, wish i did
Need a better job tbh but i dont do enough A level work as it is lol

bidding Ended but im sure the seller will accept an offer seems they didnt sell
*Rummages Through Draw and pulls out 'Haggaling Hat'*

Oh yeah and would you say £15 is alright for the door cards?
(which do fit fro mthe mk5 dont they, i think they do, looks like they do as well)

How much would you all say would be good for the seats?

Thanks a lot :D

Just keep looking.

Someone was selling a pair of 16v seats for £30 recently, which I was gonna buy but I only needed one!

I've seen 2 16V interiors sell for £50, or under in the last few weeks, so if you look you shall find!

Unfortunately the 6n2 doorcards won't directly fit, not unless you change the dash to 6n2 as well. Its round the dash to doorcard area it doesn't fit.

Don't rush & something will come up for a student budget, loads of guys on here have done it! :D
