Evening all, just had a search on the site and read bloody loads of possible answers to this question, but just seeing if anyone could help me out in particular.
Standard sus set up atm, and when I go over bumps, even at slow speed I'll get like a knocking noise coming from well I dont know? It sounds to be coming from the suspsension, mainly rear but sometimes front.. It sounds as if something is moving from side to side/ forward and backwards.
I'm free at the end of the week so may jack it up, but, to be honest have no clue what I'm looking for unless there is a clear sign on something worn. Or is my best bet a garage and just take the money hit?
I'm guessing it may be some sort of mount?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Ed

Yeh sounds like one or more of your top mounts. The rubber bits that sit on top of your struts.

Is it a loose exhaust perhaps?
Get it jacked up and have a poke about

Thanks Tim, not sure if this helps to answer the problem or if its irrelevant, but the noise is when going 'down a bump' when the front drops down a bit in a bump in the road, or over one of those expansions joints on a motorway, 90% time its fine, but bloody irritating the other 10%.Tim_GTi wrote:Yeh sounds like one or more of your top mounts.
