What Coilies/Springs are you running?

Post by theclient »

Hi Guys,

I'm slowly getting the GTI how i want it. I'm going for a very subtle 'improved OEM look'

In the last month I have:

De Wipered the rear.
Got the cambelts, waterpump and tensioners done.
Changed the Headunit.
Replaced the GTI rear badge as it was in the wrong place.
New temp sensor.
Wheels balanced as there was a strange vibration.
s2000 aerial

At the end of the month I'm getting a SACHS clutch kit fitted and a new Lambda sensor.

Was possible thinking about getting either some lowered springs or maybe coilovers?

Can you show me your cars and if you have fitted either springs or coilies and what ones you got/how much it cost you.

Bearing in mind i dont want it slammed, just a little lower...

This is the car as of now:

Probably down about 75mm on budget coilovers. They cost me £215 on eBay back in the day.

Here's a 60mm budget kit:

90% percent of people that get springs and shocks end up wanting to go lower and wanting to buy coilovers it seems. I'd do it right first and get some coilovers!

I am in the same situation at the moment, I have got the money saved to either buy springs & shocks or coilovers but dont know what to go for. I have been strongly advised not to go for coilovers simply because of the condition of the roads where I live. The roads are shocking and alot of people who go for coilovers normally live in towns or city's.

I want to lower the car by 40mm but want good quality springs & shocks, anything you guys would recommend?

Cheers

where i live there's some awful roads, mainly being the one leading to my house!

i've heard Eibach and H&R are good for springs
