Newby Here Just Saying Hello

Hi Guys,

New her and new to the Polo GTI's, in fact new to the German car scene. I have owned many hot hatches in my time, Clio 16v, Williams Clio, 2x106 GTI, Renault 5 GT Turbo and a Clio 172. Notice all have been French and although very fun cars have been poor build quality etc. I then had a little baby boy and so went for a Laguna DCi, which was the biggest mistake of my life.

Anyway I am now back on track with a 2000 Wreg Polo GTI. I pick it up on tuesday evening. Its pretty mint and totally standard with FSH. Cant wait to get it. Compaired to the french cars the Polo feels so solid and I just love the fact it has Xeons and climate control etc.

Although being standard it probably wont interest many I will post some pics on wednesday evening.

Do you guys go to any shows or meets etc?

You will have loads of fun with the gti, great cars.
I love clio 172's. Get some pics up of your old cars, they sound great.

There are lots of meets about, where are you from?

yeah the cars have been fun.

I live in a town called Haverhill which is right on the Suffolk, Essex, Cambridge borders.

My 172 mk2 Phase 1. She was mint with only 38k on the clock. Seriously not a mark on her. Now owned by someone on Cliosport.net

Clio 16v from back in the day. Loved it at the time, but the bad boy bonnet makes me cringe now. Still love the lether tho.

The 172 looks mint. Did you used to be a member of cliosport? I never post but love reading it. Some good projects over there.

Dont know of many meets suffolk way. Someone else might be able to help with that

Get some pics wacked up of the GTi when you pick it up. Also, what's your plans for it?

Hi emma, thanks for the welcome.

Cant wait to pick it up tomorrow (providing the car is ready).

Will definatly get some pics done asap. Plans will be minimal due to being a family man with a son and a mortgage, so there will not be much money to throw at it. In time the plan would be sorting the rid height and some Ronal Turbo's.
