AP's Go lower than Ta Technix?

Post by sep_rider »

I've heard alot about people finding the rear's on AP's dont go down quite enough, i'm finding quite the oposite on my Ta Technix ones, can anyone confirm AP's go further down all round than Ta Technix?

Any photos of Ta Technix's completely bottomed out or on a 9N with 16" ? Theres that Gunmetal one with Porsche twists?

Hi mate,

Here's my 9N on 7.5x16 on 195/45 with my APs all the way down at the back. Adjusters still in. Need the adjusters whipping out.

Mine??
What pic you want??

In a word.... NO

APs dont go lower than TAs. But APs give a much better ride.

But ive got shorter rear springs coming soon and got about 30mm or so left to go on the front. So it should be sitting noce even on 16s.

^^ YES you do need adjustors out ASAP haha.

Yeh didnt think so after seeing those photos..

Got mine bottomed out front and rear on 16s with 195/40 tyres and still some arch gap, bit annoying when you have coilovers!

Do you not still find a fair bit of gap on the front Veedub?

My rear isnt too bad, just want the front down for some god damn stance!

Shorter springs aye? This will work with any coilover i guess as well, the springs are pretty much independant on the rear..

I've been shown a better way using a VW part as the baseplate for the coil instead of the standard ones that come with AP's/Ta Technix..

No doubt about AP's being a better ride, got them on a friends Lupo at work and well, yeh my Ta technix are pretty hard but they're not exactly bad for the money.

Got any pictures that illustrate the arch gap you've got with your 16's ?

Veedub9n, how much lower does the back go without the adjusters?

I'm on 17s now and could only do with losing 25mm now.

I ran my 16s wiht a 45 tyres and didnt have much of a gap up front, But i still need them bringing down, I just CBA atm in this weather.

Pics erm.... only ones i have are when i first got my coilies but they were higher then compared to now and i still had the adjustor in the back haha. Should have pic on my thread.

Whats your better way using a VW part as the baseplate for the coil instead of the standard ones that come with AP's/Ta Technix??

You should get another 10mm with adjustors out, it aint much, but might aswel take them out.

Always. I've been slamming cars for 22 years ;)

However, there is something to be said for being able to drive down my street without swerving about to avoid bumps. :)
