Hazy Headlights

Post by BobbyG »

Hi all,

My headlight lenses are looking hazy and discoloured, almost as if someone's gone at them with a brillo pad!

Anyone got any advice as to a product that will sort it? Will T-Cut do the job or is it too abrasive?

Cheers,

Probably a good idea to use something more suited to the job, you might make them worse with an abrasive.

The guys on the detailing forum use a rotary polisher and coarse polishing compound... but I wouldnt want to do it myself... very easy to cock it up!

Yep machine polisher is a must to get it out properly.

Scratch-X is good, along with any other high abrasive polish. where are you located?

London at the moment, but I won't be doing anything to the car until I move up north in a month or so!

Would a drill mop work?

Maybe, if you had a high abrasive pad.

When I mean high abrasive, I mean a compound pad like this.

That won't fit a mop drill, but if you get something along those lines I can't see why it wouldn't do the job just fine.
