Question about alternators

right i think my alternator is on its way out...

i have developed a big ass whine and its only happened since i put my new sub in (rockyfosgate Power 2 Series jobby) running off my old vibe amp

and just wondering can i fit a GTi one straight onto my 1.4 8v without any trouble (like mounting different or anything)

as i can get it fitted on the cheap and need it done before i start going to the shows


any help with this matter would be appreciated thanks

just curious. how much RMS is ur sub pushing?

GTI alternators have a completely different mounting. You would have to look into possibly one of the diesel ones or an alternator from a different model as the block on an 8v is rather different.

not really sure mate..... i havent really thought about it as i got it out my mates old Competion Golf (never made it to any due to engine being Kafooked)
