replaced horn! now not working?

ok here goes, iv'e replaced the horn with a new one. (twin tone) but it wasn't the rite connection. So i have cut off the connections which was on the standard vw wiring. But since connecting it up. it only works when it wants to?! lol any ideas? before mot is due :(

Did you use a relay?

most probably it needs a relay mate

id love to put a train horn in mine... :D wouldnt have a clue how though.. and id still want my original horn so i dont get fooked by police maybe an extra button for a train horn... is that possible.
