Warning Lights and Beeping!

Hi,

I was parked last night, key in the ignition. All of a sudden i heard numerous different types of beeping and flashing on the dashboard.
The oil light was flashing, and so was the handbrake light. Now when ever i remove the key, the ignition lights still stay on!?
And every 5 or so minutes the car beeps again..
Its going in to a garage tomorrow, any ideas what normally causes this?

Also on a side note. Most of the time when my car has been resting for a while, when i go to use the brakes for the first time (of that drive), i get a grinding/rustling/rubbing sound. (i think from the rear?). But after i have used the brakes for a while, no sound is heard. Could that sound have any thing to do with the beeping on the dash board? The grinding/rustling/rubbing sound has been there for a very long time however.

Yesterday morning as I went to take my car to the garage, it wouldn't start. I had to jump it off my girlfriends car.

I later got a phone call telling me it was the batteries fault. So I got a replacement battery fitted. All for £65! Not to bad really!

Any way, I'm glad I've got my car back on the road!

glad u got it sorted, as for the brake grinding noise it happens to me as well. its just coz u aint used the car for a few days, i just ignore it
