I found the red no problem  But for whatever reason the Southport branch of Halfords never has the chrome strip in. Its a bummer. Ahh well, it looks quite good with the red, and when I get my wheels from Dottingham should be finished off nicely.

Ah, was following a mk2 today Groovy, got to see what you mean a little better. All those little details you don't notice until they're pointed out! Looks nice...

Need an excuse to smooth mine down anyway i suppose, all the scuffing it's got (from me!). Just... it's full of back to black and other silicone type nonsense that never worked right, whats the best way to kill all that?

Methylated spirits, or something like white spirit. Leave it to dry once you've washed it down with that litlle lot, and then wash the bumper down in a detergeant (pretty good eh, considering I didn't do mine myself  )

Thanks.

Karl.

Oh, in other news, I am getting the front back today. Gawd elp them if they mess it up this time. Will keep you posted anyway.

Right, some close ups of the finished job, and now you can see the mesh:

(This part was the part that was uneven and full of runs, now mint)

The rear bumper:

Now I'm not afraid to show you close up!

Really should get the plate recess all done though, but I need some other bits doing anyhow, so it can wait.

Just want to say how sweet James UK's twin-tail pipes look. Never seen that on a mk3 polo before, and damn it looks smart.

Oh and the colour-coded bumpers aren't half bad too!!!

Now, if that was my car, I'd be bloody happy with that :)
They made a nice job of it in the end :) Any chance of some pics from further away now you've got the red strip in?

Next time I'm up at my grans (we don't have enough room on our drive, until we get it sorted, so my cars there), I will get some pics taken. Best be good weather though. It was atad unpredictable. Maybe I will clean it as well...

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I used to prep bumpers for a living back when I worked in a bodyshop much like your Polo's (most colour-coded ones came primed though). I've gotta say it makes it look very tidy.

gives the whole thing a much more even appearance.... rather than being white-black-white on the doors and rear body, but white-black-black at the bumpers :)

damn, when Jo finally bolts on that new, unblemished door, i think i'll have to ask her to pay me for the frame in a few cans of properly matched royal blue rather than the flat £30 (scrap door + petrol) i was originally going to add :D
that'll do for the bumpers and various blemishes
