As long as you have a 6n2, and get the 4 x 100 version running 195/40/16 tyres yes

Youll put the speedo out somewhat and the tyres will scrub the rear arches on bumps in the road

195/40/16 or nothing on 16s buddy!

I run 195/45/r16

Front,

Rear,

Not sure how low I actually am (rear sits lower than the front) but it's quite low I get a bit of rub on the rears going over speed bumps anything over 10mph and on the occasional corner and the front rubs sometimes of full lock but only on the arch lining, il get 195/40/r16 next cause I want spacers but the wheels came with these perfectly good tyres so don't see the point in changing them

Mine came with 195/45/16s on the 16 RX2s i had

Took them off immediately, as they had burned right through the rear arch liners lol!

Ha ha :D mine scrubs very occasionally so in not to worried at the moment, but I will go to a scrappy and get replacement arch liners when these tyres are old and need replacing but won't be for a while I've never been a speed deamon I drive at like 20-25mph everywhere not even intentionally just not heavy footed :-)

IMO 40 profile isnt low enough, i had 195 40 15 on a set of cades eros i had and i scrubbed like f**k. They looked mint though, and for the price you cant go wrong. Only downfall id say to cades wheels is that they make them out of butter!!! The alloy is very soft as far as wheels go. If you catch them on a Kurb then be prepared to do some damage.

But have a look on rimstyle dude. There is recently an emerging company (cant remember there name) But there doing replicas of alot of rota wheels, the loook exactly the same and for a good fraction less than what rota charge. Cades also do another very cheap euro looking wheel, resembles the rh cups a little and then youve got the usual rx1's and rx2's not to mention dotz mugello arent a bad looking wheel for the price dude. Always keep an eye out on ebay aswell. Can pick up some nice wheels off there. Picked up a set of exip's in the past for just under 200 and they were fully polished with near enough new tyres.

40 is plenty low enough. Thats the same rolling radius as a 195/45/15 tyre which the GTI is fitted as standard and this doesnt scrub whatsoever

Its the offset that makes them scrub and the width, plus running a car heavily lowered.
