Upgrade Bulbs

Post by AJ_7 »

Hi guys,

Buying some upgrade bulbs for my headlights. I've looked at the 'Philips Blue Vision Plus H7 12V 55W more light Xenon HID Look' on HIDS4U and just wondering if anyone has any bulbs they would highly recommend. Are the Xenon look bulbs worth buying? I don't wanna look like a chav in a riced out Saxo, I'm just after some more powerful bulbs! I'd also like them to be a lot whiter than the 'yellowyness' of the OEM bulbs.

Also, would the DRL's be made brighter?

Any feedback would be hugely appreciated,

Alex

Get this HID Conversion kit for HIDS4U, whenever i get the money i will be being myself one as well. Blaade had these lights and said they where far better than standard lits. The only probably is you need to check what bulbs you have cause they could be H7 or H4 :)

Thanks mate, I've been researching bulbs on other, more active forums and the Phillips Blue Vision Ultra bubs seem to be very good. So I bit the bullet and ordered some and also got some free Phillips Blue Vision 501 sidelight bulbs :) I'll do some before/after shots once they arrive :)

Unscrewed the two screws on the top of the headlight, but can't for the life of me get the headlight unit out! Does anyone have any advice? Following the steps in the Owners Manual but not having any success :(

All sorted :) Really surprised you have to use that much force to take them out, I was scared of breaking something! Just incase anyone is interested, the bulbs I bought were Phillips Blue Vision Plus H7 from: http://www.hids4u.co.uk/Philips-blue-vi ... n-hid.html

Basket came to £ 26.06 but using the Discount Code 'STRATHY' came to a total of £19.54. Also included a free set of Phillips Ultra White W5W bulbs which I put in the sidelights. Pics to follow sometime soon :)

Few morning pics, can clearly see the difference over the OEM bulbs. The Yellowyness has been replaced for whiteness  For £20 I don't think you can go wrong! Drove in the night last night and there's a massive difference  The pictures don't actually do them any favours if i'm honest, they're actually whiter in real life :)

Nothing major really. Fitting a GTi grill, getting the rear windows tinted and my Boavista alloys refurbed in Diamond Black from VW. When Revo finally pull their finger out and sort a map out it will also be remapped :) Oh, and some lowered springs  And also the VW retrofitted LED DRL's when they become available too.
