Don't know the part (no access to etka!) but the dealer told me it would be 70 quid. Tonight I fit the mfsw, works great I think until you hit the wiper buttons! I'm going to try find a way to disable them without buying and fitting a new stalk. Dug my old hex can vag com out today, might try enable needle sweep whilst I'm at it...

Ok checked on VCDS, both beta and latest (10.6.4) and couldn't find anything in the instruments about the wiper stalk. The MFSW controls work great for a while but without touching them it locks up sometimes and I can only control thru the wiper stalk :(

I don't really want to have to buy the blank stalk and go thru the ball ache of removing the steering wheel to get to the wiper stalk.

I've emailed RTech about it so I'll see if anything comes of it.

Staging / needle sweep can't be enabled, I have tried this already.

All the coding related to the MFSW is found in the 09 - Central Electrics controller.

Cheers Steve,

Just had a look in the Steering Wheel Module and nothings labelled :(

Current Coding is 830000.

If I start screwing with different bits in the coding helper do you think I will brick my control module?

Just doing a scan and a map to send to Ross Tech as we speak...

My brother has a 2011 'Rocco (170 diesel no dsg) with MFSW - would it be worth taking a peek at the control module coding for that?

Very likely to be different from experience, I will check ETKA and see if they share the steering control module.

Hmmm - Seems to be the same module (5K0 959 542). Although it is found in a different place (16 steering wheel?)

So if I change it manually to 820000 d'ya reckon that's worth a shot?

More importantly will it brick my SWC :P

I think the 3 in the 830000 signifies automatic/dsg, from looking at other folks autoscans dotted around forums. Anyone with the gti and multi function steering wheel fancy posting up a scan so we can see what the proper coding should be ?

The replacement stalk without the MFSW controls on the end is: -

6Q0 953 513 AL 9B9 - With Cruise Control @ £72.40 inc VAT

6Q0 953 513 AG 9B9 - Without Cruise Control @ £62.89 inc VAT

Got used to not hitting the wiper now so will be leaving mine as is.

Also I think if you code it to show the car doesn't have the controls on the end of the stalk it will throw a fault code.

Thanks, SteveP! :D

I can't see any reason for a difference, but is it the same number for a left-hand drive?
