(if its any consolation, i like revving mine up from time to time just to blow any loose crap out.... or is that just to hear the noise :D just up to the limiter for a couple secs then back again when it's warmed and standing still. dont think it does too much harm so long as its not cold and you dont do it for more than a moment)

have you been fidling round the engine bay at all? as when i was playing with my carbs i knocked the yellow and blue sensor/sender thingys that are on the back of the rocker cover, and that made the buzzer and light come on

I have had the air box off it so I could get to something. Theres a good possibility that it may have come loose from that...
