2007 9N3 1.8t GTi OEM Tyre pressures

Post by Bogwoppit »

I have just bought a 2007 5 door Polo GTi and I am really enjoying the car ect.
Before I bought the car it must have had a new fuel cap and the tyre pressure sticker wasn't replaced.
So I am not sure what the recommended tyre pressures are for the car and most dealers are clueless also.

I got this image for a german forum, can another UK 1.8t Polo owner please tell me whether this is the same sticker and pressures ect as on their fuel cap?
Image

If it is different please can you post a photo ect and I will try and get my dealer to get the same sticker.

Thanks :D

The pressures are the same as mine, but I think the other tyre size shown is different, I will try remember to have a look

Iv never noticed before but mine is the same, with German and English, I think there supposed to be like that/there all like that as I'm pretty sure mine has never had the fuel cap changed

Only thing mine has that yours does not is the spare tyre pressure:

I've got the same one as BennoGTI has on mine. Surprisingly though, although the sticker says for tyres with a load index of 83, mine's always had ones fitted with a load index of 87. Anyone else's like that?

Thanks for the replies

They run quite high pressures for such a light car, 37.7psi (2.6bar) front, and 34.8psi (2.4bar) rear for half laden.

Benno, thanks for the pic. can you please confirm the part number in the bottom corner is it '6Q0 010 636 N'??

Blazeguarder, 87 just means you have got reinforced tyres rather than the standard load rating of 83 on the 205/45R16 size. As long as you don't fit tyres less than an 83 load rating it should be fine.
