My new one. Not a Polo but oh well!

Post by MODDED9N »

After enjoying the experience of my lovely GTI, I realised that it wasn't sustainable to maintain a car like that whilst doing the miles I was. I was ummming and arrrring as to what I should replace my Polo with and took me ages to decide! I was thinking about a new shape Seat Leon FR with the BTCC body kit and although they are quick, the interior is very basic with more dashboard than you can shake a stick at. I then started looking around at A3s and you get a lot more for your money. I picked up my a3 about a month ago now and it is a great car:

And then a week after I bought it:

The dealer had the wheels refurbished before I picked it up and the wheels were only done up finger tight. I heard a knocking noise and then clunk, the front left wheel was overtaking me!! Was only 5 mins from work and was going to get out and see what the noise was! Anyway, he's paying out for the work to be done and a bit more so thats some money for insurance and modding!

Specs:
2.0tdi Auto 170bhp
S line
Bose
Sat Nav
Leather
18" Wheels

Done:
S3 mirrors
LED bulbs inside and out
2011 S3 Bumper (bought not fitted)
Tints being done (Simon90 on the forum doing it)

To be done:
Remap to 210bhp
19'' BBS CH wheels
Full respray in Lamborghini balloon white (pearl white)
S3 rear diffuser
Genuine a3 DRL/bixenon headlights
RS3 grille (£600 for a grille!!!)

There we go :)

Ouch. Was there much under body damage or did the disc take the brunt?

It was quite scary and then I was just annoyed and then I got angry! Thank you Junior! would of been a lot different if someone had been on the inside lane when i was pulling across into a lay-by/the disc hit a pot hole!

So you couldn't stay away from the oil burners for long! That's a nice A3, I looked at buying one but it was out of my price range at the time :( I love the wheels and I'm sure it's almost silent inside too, my polo rattles like sack of plastic spanners, I must be getting old complaining about stuff like that :|

Look forward to seeing your progress!

hahaha it is quite quiet yes but pulls well! Heard you got your polo remapped to 130? Whats it like? Also convince dan to get those TT comps refurbished in anthracite or matte black! They are nice wheels but quite plain! Need bigger and better!

I'll bet! Is the S3 bumper front or rear? The front bumper looks the same as an S3 already. And yeah I did and now it pulls like a train :D loads of fun. I think I overboosted though which made the turbo cut out, or go into limp mode or something. No faults recorded though and it's not happened since. Hmm.

Hah I like Dan's wheels polished, they suit the car fairly well, if his car were white or red then anthracite would look sick :) Which makes me think, get your car repainted RS3 orange!!

S3 front bumper ! The S Line and the S3 bumper are almost The same but on the S3 bumper the grilles are slightly bigger! The devils in the detail! I love loud colours colours like that but not on A3s! :p

Hmmm probs just an overboost. If I were you I would upgrade the injectors to pd130/150 ones!

Looks mint Will, really nice dude. Shame about the wheel though, compo £££? S3 bumper will look good, give it a decent aggressive front.

More pics :D
