also with fitting 17 will its fill the arch more and look good with out lowering or will it just make the car taller? my dads into his transporters t4 and t5s buying making them look nice wheels lower and few engine mods and selling them on but he thinks bigger wheels will just fit nice in the arch but i think the gap between wheel and arch will stay the same.. can anyone confirm one of them?

17's won't make the car sit any taller. The overall diameter of wheel+tyre stays the same, so you fit larger rims and lower profile tyres. But there will be more alloy on show to 'fill' the arches :)

Best bet is to see how the Dunes look and lower from there. I don't think you'll be needing much unless you want to slam it! If 9n3 Turbo puts up a photo you'll be able to see what he's done :D

It's just an all-round good upgrade diverter valve for the 1.8t engine, made by Forge who make a load more decent engine bits. It recirculates air rather than venting to atmosphere so you don't get a chavvy loud TSSHHH but a quieter one that recirculates the air to keep the engine happy while doing its job.

The springs depend on the boost pressure you're running. I believe after a stage one some people uprate their spring, pretty sure green is the standard one Forge send and will do fine even on remapped Gtis, others go for the yellow one after a remap. It's just down to whether you start to lose boost when you punt it, if it surges, stick a yellow one in :) or a spacer that comes with the spring kit.

Not sure mate, no first hand experience here just repeating what I've read. Technically it stops the turbo stalling when the throttle valve closes between shifts, minimizing the turbo lag straight after the gear change while the turbo spools up again. I believe the Gti is fitted with a diverter as standard, but the 007p performs much better.

If you don't want a stretch then you'll be best off going for 205/40/17. Though, i'd go for 195's as you'll need it if you want to go low.
