Hi Franko,

I like the look of those dials, have you glued them in permanently now? Also, have you got or do you know if you can get a matching dial for the lights?

Thanks.

Your absolutely in the right mind set, at the moment I am yet to commit to the change as I like consistency and the light switch is what's stopping me.

With the functionality of the light switch to activate fogs by pulling it out it wouldn't be practical to have a dial :( I think it's why vw probably selected the original switches.

However I have left my air con knobs on and have grown to like them :) not sure if they are going to stay as of yet :/ but they do definitely improve the look of the standard unit.

Hello frank,

I just have purchased some knobs for my aircon... my question is when you took off the original ones did they had like a transparent tube in the back or they were plane?

Also i know you have put pictures of the new ones.. but did those had a tube in the back or the were plane?

When i took my original ones seems to be plane with no plastic tube in the back. and it left a transparent shiny plastic where the knob was with the red led in the middle..

Thank you for your reply.

Raul

Sorry fella missed your comment ill go get some pics now as mine aren't glued in just yet so u can see the fitting :)

so when you pull off the original fitting you will have a clear/ transparent holding "cup" i did try to pull these out but they are meant to stay as this is what the new knobs attach too

My knobs arrived last week, put them on and thinkthey look nice as they compliment the knobs on the stereo head unit. As Franko mentioned previously, they are a little loose compared to the originals, however, rather than use glue, I used a bit of blu tac  and this has made it pretty secure without being permanently stuck.

That's a genius idea! Haha good thinking fella I'm going to go do the same, I didn't want to glue them but blue tac sounds spot on. :D

What do they feel like? Are they rubberised?

The side is aluminium but it's cross cut so it grips well. The front bit is plastic. They also give a bit of resistance in turning so they have a good feel to them.

@ Franko - saw youe PM but no option to reply ?! (only delete or report)

Anyway, hopefully this will make sense without pics, I used a pea sized amount of blu tac just at the base/bottom of the knob (does that sound wrong? :D ). So, you have what I call the top - the bit with the indicator showing what temp/fan speed/direction - I put the blu tac at the bottom/opposite end. I thought I would need more but this seems to do the trick for me and the knobs have been quite secure. Bonus is you just need to apply more force if you need to pull the knob out to replace with the originals or whatever.

Hope this helps.

Hello guy's/girls...

I have a 1.2 TSI Seat IBIZA FR the facelift one. just wondering if any one know's if these will fit my car?

the stock knobs look identical to mine, so I don't see why not.

Thanks,

Jake.

Just try pulling the knobs off first check the fastenings, if they look the same as the pics then I'd give it a go :)
