Aaah. I didn't know the front fogs showed up on the main dash! Wonder is that why my front fogs on the 9n3 didn't show up on the dash... Cus the spark didn't code them lol. Lazy bones.

Cheers. I took a photo of my code to see what BCM I have gonna check it out when I get in; compared to the one on the first page! :)

I've had a Match courtesy car and the fog light symbol didn't show up on the dash, it just turned green on the switch, only the rear fog light symbol shows on the dash.

The front foglights is only shown on the switch itself where the front foglight symbol turns green.

it's only the rear foglught that shows on in the speedometer. So that morrons don't forget that it's on when the fog has liftet...

OK so what can be conclude from that discussion is that the reason for coding the BCM, is NOT for turning on the light on the speedo.
It possibly to enable the fogs to function, or possibly to monitor the bulbs.
But I do not see any direct wiring between the fogs and the BCM (in the last diagram).

So my other theory is that the coding is only required when there's DUAL fog light - the one with a fog bulb plus a DRL bulb.
Now, those ARE connected directly to the BCM and so they need enabling.
That is, there are two types of fog light - simple one bulb and a more sophisticated dual bulb version.

I used my iPhone (nice and thin with a camera on BOTH sides).

You are almost there. You cannot take a shot from the pedals. You have to stick your hand up behind the fuse box while holding the phone.
It might help if you set your camera to video mode, start filming, move it behind the "scene", and film for a few seconds aound the back.
Then review your video to give you an idea where the BCM label is. Trust me, it's there. I can see it in your photo.
It's here:

Nice one !
Now you just need to find out if 6R0 937 086 D supports front fogs.
I think it does not support Cruise Control :(

Still looking into wiring these puppies "OEM" style.

Anyone know if you can add NEW fuses to the fuse box ?
E.g. Front fogs have a 15A fuse in position 54 :

That position is empty.
Can connectors/wires be inserted into the empty slots to hold fuses ?

@jammydodger, still waiting for your write up

Haha I promise I'll have it up by Saturday, just really busy with college, with regards to the fuse box, you do attach an inline 20A fuse on the positive wire from the battery to the fogs.

@jammydodger, hey no worries...college comes first mate

Seems like you wired the fogs via a relay and the battery.
I am looking to wire it as per factory.

Yeah I wired them through a relay, much easier and no coding required, the genuine wiring uses a relay too but it's just located in the relay board near the BCM. :)
