Water Coolant display
Water Coolant display
Anyone noticing the water coolant display on the dash of their new polos taking a long time to reach 90? at first mine used to jump to 90 in a matter of seconds, (but now 4 weeks in) it is sitting at zero and not rising until i have been driving for a while and not always reaching 90. It stays at zero even when driving at speeds of 30- 40 mph. It can come up marginally and then dip a bit when sitting at lights, etc, and then eventually reaches 90 if i take it on a longer drive. Anyone seeing the same happen? nothing to be too concerned about?

Sounds like your thermostat might be broken...gt_lock wrote:Anyone noticing the water coolant display on the dash of their new polos taking a long time to reach 90? at first mine used to jump to 90 in a matter of seconds, (but now 4 weeks in) it is sitting at zero and not rising until i have been driving for a while and not always reaching 90. Mine takes quite a while to get up to 90 from cold a good 5 mins or so. Always has done but only up to about 900 miles total so far.

I hope its not the thermostat, but will keep an eye on it. hornmeister, what polo do you have? If it is normal behaviour and others notice this too then surely it must be ok.
